From our offices in Central Birmingham, we act for clients throughout Britain, Europe and the rest of the world.

Our practice was founded in 1993 by Diane Benussi – who set out to create a niche matrimonial law firm. Divorced herself, she understood the difficulties, issues and, on occasions, trauma that individuals may face during divorce or separation.

Diane set out to establish a matrimonial and family law firm that offers personal solutions...for personal problems.

A law firm:

  • Where listening precedes advice
  • Where advice precedes action
  • Where action is considered and strategic

A firm that keeps financial and emotional strains to a minimum.

The practice has grown – we now have some 25 partners and staff – Diane's personal values still dominate. Sound service, personal advice, thought and attention to detail. Plus, of course, relevant action.

A firm that listens to clients

Divorce is second only to bereavement as a stressful experience. Our aim is not just to meet the needs of the legal process but to take a calm look at the situation, determine the best possible course of action and outcome – and minimise the stress.

Emotional trauma is a feature of many divorce cases. This natural anger can be a barrier to obtaining the best settlement for all concerned. We place great emphasis on providing support – from our legal and support staff – plus our fully qualified counsellor and our Life Coach.

Our counsellors offer a completely confidential service which is entirely separate from the legal team. The objective is to support clients through their divorce, and assist them in moving forward to the next phase of their lives.

The culmination of the legal process of divorce is a Decree Absolute and financial settlement. Our goal is to achieve that finality as rapidly, efficiently and smoothly as practical. We act as a team, pooling our background experiences and technical expertise. The monetary settlement we seek for our client is a realistic aspiration having viewed the total financial package available to the entire family.

We remind our clients that there is life after divorce. The Decree Absolute may signify one door closing – but we are always on hand when the next door opens.

Our work in family law is not just about divorce. Pre-nuptial contracts, co-habitation agreements and child law issues are all dealt with by our individual experts.
